On Karl Lagerfeld calling her the “girl of the moment”: “I started this hoping that it would have longevity. I didn’t come into this thinking it’s going to be a fun thing that I’m going to do on the side. It’s something I want to do my whole life. It’s a career, so I needed to be really gentle with it. We had to pick and choose things very specifically.”

Screen Shot 2015-04-09 at 9.51.27 PM

Now she’s basically BFFs with Karl (who also shot the cover & editorial of Harper’s): “I’m really shy when I first meet someone—and to meet him was even worse. He would say something to me and I would just nod. It was like meeting a crush or something—I was mute. He probably thought I was the biggest weirdo. And then every time we’d see each other, it would just get better and better. Now we’re totally BFFs.”

On being model besties with Cara Delevingne, Joan Smalls, & Gigi Hadid: “Just through work. I think it’s super important. You have to be around these girls for work, for parties, for events, for shows, especially. It’s good to have a set of girlfriends that you can stand being around. You have to be around these people all the time!”

And, what’s ‘craycray Cara’ really like? “Amazingly crazy. We balance each other out. I chill her out and she makes me fun.”

Screen Shot 2015-04-09 at 9.50.13 PM

The KUWTK star talks sister Kim’s style:  “I really admire Kim’s style. It’s insane. She really knows how to work her style with her body. I think she could be a major fashion icon. It’s so fun to be in Paris with her, but I’ll walk out and be like, ‘Oh, my God, I love my outfit,’ and then I’ll see Kim and I’ll be like, ‘My outfit sucks compared to yours!’”

Screen Shot 2015-04-09 at 9.50.26 PM

On her dream date: “I don’t know, a nice dinner. I love, like, being outside at night. I know that sounds really random, but I love being on the beach or anywhere.”

BadGal RiRi on her Box Office Hit ‘HOME’ for Vanity Fair Italia.

BadGalRiRi is BOSS. Talk about triple threat: model | musician | actress .. oh did we mention a designer & overall bad-a**? RiRi’s starring in the animated film HOME which just knocking out the Box Office with $54 million in the first few days- beating out new movie ‘Get Hard’. She also just sang her new hit single BBHMM (B*tch Better Have My Money) from her album R8 at a killer live performance during the iHeart Radio Music Awards | catch it here on our blog. Now, she’s covering Vanity Fair Italia looking fresh-faced & flawless.

107kvnl

RiRi talks her character Tip in her movie ‘Home’:

On Tip’s love of music & how she found her own voice as a little girl in Barbados: “I love the scene where Tip plays a song to Oh, who’s never heard music in his life and doesn’t understand what’s happening, so he tries to stop himself from dancing. Music is my life forever. When I was little, in Barbados there was only one TV channel: there was the time slot of the newscast, to Beautiful, Sesame Street and documentaries”

On how she relates to her character Tip: “Tip is strong, independent. Not to be discouraged, she knows what she wants and never gives up, without waiting for the help of others. She’s a little cheeky as I was. However sensitive. It sounds strange, but I’m very shy. I can only be spontaneous if I’m fine with those around me.”

Her musical inspiration: “On Sunday, finally, there were music videos on all day. I could stay inside the whole day listening to Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and Bob Marley. I enjoyed mimicking their every song. And by doing a lot of imitating I found my voice. I was only a child when I decided I wanted to do singing as a profession, which I remember very clearly. I was eight years old, and my little brother had just been born, and I told myself that I wanted to do music, music gets you places in the world where I have never been.”

On feeling like an outsider: “Oh is an alien, Tip is a human: the music is just one of many things that make them, for background, very different. But gradually they discover a number of similarities. It is the basis of friendship, when one begins to know and you stop judging them. I know what it means to feel, like them, an outsider. The first time it happened to me as a child in Barbados, was when I moved and I ended up in a school where I knew no one. And then when at sixteen I landed in New York, where I was know as “the girl who is from the island.’”

Rihanna has a close relationship with her mom, and overall family, ummm have you seen the pics of baby Majesty?? Her character Tip is close to her mom as well, she says, “I recognize a lot in the relationship between Tip and her mother. My mom is a force of nature. I know that everyone says: I have the best mother in the world. But I’m really convinced. She has always filled me with affection and has never tried, nor has judged my friends. Her presence reassures me. I’m glad it was Jennifer Lopez who got to be the voice of my character’s mother. When she speaks, I feel the same warmth and the same security that my own mother gives me.”

Meaning of ‘Home’ in the film vs what ‘Home’ means to Ri: “Home, in the film, is all about reuniting with the people you love. For me, they are always around, the lifeline, when I return in the evening to my hotel room, is the TV: news, reality shows, movies, documentaries, cartoons. I learned to call any place where I feel safe as home. But there is no place like Barbados. My beaches, my family, my food, my music. Home, for me, it’s right there.”

Rihanna recently was featured on TWO covers of Harpers Bazaar China.

Photographed by “the coolest chick” she’s ever met, Chen Maner.

Actress/Model Olga Kurylenko on Women & Hollywood for Harpers Bazaar Arabia.

Stunning actress // model Olga Kostantinovna Kurylenko rocks a serious cat-eye for the cover of Harpers Bazaar Arabia’s February issue. It’s no wonder Olga looks fierce, seeing as she started her career as a model.

The 35 year old muse & actress talks feminism, women power & Hollywood.

On girl power: “I would stand up for women, so I appreciate it when other women do, too. I think that we can pretty much do anything that a man can do. The only think we can’t compete in is equal strength. But everything else, like mental capabilities, women are equal. I think it has to be known at this point.”

On always being a feminist (even before it became so ‘in’):“It’s funny, now it’s all coming out. But I’ve been pro-feminism since I moved to Paris [aged 16]. I had started reading a lot of [books by] Simone de Beauvoir, who has since become my role model. The thing is, nobody ever really asked me about [being a feminist], or seemed very interested, so I didn’t speak about it much. Now it’s become ‘fashion’, it’s almost like there’s a special year for it, even though it’s been around for decades. I’m like, ‘Great, but why did it take so long?’”

Screen Shot 2015-02-22 at 6.25.59 PM

On Hollywood & equality: “I understand that the best parts [in Hollywood] are for men and, of course, men are paid more. I just live with it but it matters. I’ve been lucky, though… I’ve gotten some good parts; some where I was the lead and some where I was the accessory. But look at [Terrence] Malick, he made me the lead in To The Wonder, so I can’t say that I feel the oppression as a woman or that I’m getting passed by for great parts. I just choose to look on the positive side.”

Will YOU be picking up the issue? It’s out on news stands now! Xx

Swimming with Sharks for the sake of fashion: “I try my best to avoid the sharks of life, but I have had my share of experiences with them, and in those cases I just have to handle them accordingly. But I do not swim with sharks … sharks swim with sharks.”

Her fav red carpet looks: “My favorite red-carpet looks are usually the ones I get to help design: the Adam Selman Swarovski crystal dress at the CFDAs, the Stella McCartney all-white dress at the Met Gala, and the Adam Selman white jersey dress from the VMAs. Getting red carpet ready: “At times a lot of maintenance, and at times none. I have a job that requires quite a lot of glam, and I have a great team that helps me with that. But sometimes, like when I’m in the studio or on vacation, there’s little to no maintenance.”

The relatively newly single beauty let’s us in on her dating secrets. Surprisingly, her biggest tip doesn’t revolve around your outfit, but in your emotions, “What really works is to spend 15 minutes and focus on feelings and moments that have made you feel really good. Remember those moments so you can build up a positive force field around you.”

Secondly,  what to wear, “Something that you feel good in. Also, if you’re wearing good underwear—even if no one knows about it—it gives you that extra boost of confidence.” When asked WHAT kind of undies? “Oooh, I can’t tell you that.” She smiles. “But I do like the garter belt. Myla makes a great high-waisted one. Say it’s winter, and you have really nice underwear on, a garter belt, stockings, boots that come up, and a dress on over the top.” Wink. “No one needs to know.”

Although, Kerr, isn’t totally dating at the moment,  “I’ll go on a date here and there if it works. But at this point my priority is my son. I’m not looking for a relationship. I’m just not.”

She credits her modeling career to Nicolas Ghesquière, current designer of Louis Vuitton, previously creative director of Balenciaga, “Nicolas cast me before I was pregnant,” she recalls. “Then while I was pregnant, and after …” She says, “He really believed in me in a world where a lot of people don’t. If you’re in a certain category, they keep you in that category. I started more commercially, and sometimes it’s hard to go the other way, you know?”

On expanding her modeling to career to becoming owner/creator of KORA Organics: “I have to approach my career with a wink. Otherwise you can be really self-critical, because there’s always someone else. I’ve struggled with that. The perception is that I have it all. But in the modeling industry—and I’ve been in the industry since I was 13—it’s not all what it appears to be. People don’t realize that.”

Screen shot 2015-01-08 at 11.32.07 AM

On her adorable four year old son, Flynn:”He’s the sweetest boy, really so gentle and so loving and so—”. Adding, “I get a tear in my eye because I’m so proud of him. He’s really engaging and funny.”

On her ex Orlando Bloom: [Orlando] lives 30 seconds away. Flynn has the best of both worlds that way. Orlando will always be my family. We get on so well. We hang out a lot. We’re a team, and we really work on that because Flynn is our priority. We’re both really transparent about everything.” She laughs. “Even though we don’t need to be!”

Screen shot 2015-01-08 at 11.31.39 AM

Finally, this super-mom-model-woman needs to chill here & there – her laid back go-to? Silk robe, tea, water, “And nothing else. Just around the house. I love taking my shoes off and being in the grass. Or sunbaking naked. I wish I could go skinny-dipping in the ocean. If I didn’t have to worry about anyone taking my picture, I’d totally be out there. Yeah … ” She folds up her notepad. “I quite like to be naked.”

Of course fans & viewers couldn’t get over how FAB the 45 year old bombshell looked! People tweeted:

“Twitter tells us Jennifer Lopez is 45. We all must make peace with the fact we will not look as good as her at 45…35…25…,”

Jennifer Lopez is 45 and looks better than 99% of the girls I went to high school with.”

Diane Kruger is ‘The Cool Blonde’.

German actress/model/bona fide fashionista: Diane Kruger – looks stunning, boho-chic, & like one cool chick for her latest editorial with Harper’s Bazaar Australia. For the cover she looks fab in a CHANEL cruise ’15 collection piece – love the vibrant colors & prints – especially for a nice hippie touch this fall/winter.

1

For the November issue Kruger talks aging, the red carpet & fashion, of course.

Fashion: “Clothes to me are an external expression of a state of mind, or a reaction I want to get from people. Fashion is just a fun way for women to show our colors. Guys buy a car.”

Diane adds that she’s not afraid of aging, and ready to embrace it, “I want to age gracefully and I don’t judge those who get injections. But we can’t age backwards, so you have to embrace it sometime.”

Fame vs Red Carpet: “Red carpets are a stressful, bizarre situation. Imagine having all those people yell at you and take photos. Not the most comfortable moment. It’s ridiculous. Honestly, I just don’t care what people say. It’s not worth worrying about. I care about the film I’ve just made and what my boyfriend says when I walk out of the door.”

Recently, her longtime beau, actor Joshua Jackson, opened up about the question everyone is asking, Why aren’t they married yet?? His answer is sweet & honest:

“I can tell you why we’re not married: We’re not religious,” The Affair‘s Jackson told the November ’14 issue of Glamour. “I don’t feel any more or less committed to Diane for not having stood in front of a priest and had a giant party. We’re both children of divorce, so it’s hard for me to take marriage at face value as the thing that shows you’ve grown up and are committed to another person.”

Adding, “It may change at some point. We may get married.”

Taylor Swift ‘Shakes it Off’ for Harper’s Bazaar Germany.

Taylor Swift – who’s reigning the billboards right now – looks sophisticated & cool, with minimal makeup, for Harper’s Bazaar Germany.

The Deutsch publication even called Taylor Swift: Queen BEE (ummm, Beyonce know about this??) Swift must be taking notes from her supermodel BFF, Karlie Kloss, on posing in front of the camera,  because she’s definitely got her model-game on point!

Screen Shot 2014-10-15 at 3.20.44 PM

Taylor released her new song & music video for  Shake it Off from her album 1989 – we can’t stop gettin’ our groove on to the hit singe at the Z Management studios in NYC! Now, she just released a 2nd track Out of the Woods which is rumored to be about her ex-beau, Harry Styles, from boy band One Direction.

The top musician/model/actress shared on Good Morning America, “This song is about the fragility and kind of breakable nature of some relationships. This was a relationship where I was kind of, living day to day, wondering where it was going, if it was going to go anywhere, if it was going to end the next day. It was a relationship where you, kind of, never feel like you’re standing on solid ground.”

Adding, ‘And that kind of a feeling brings on excitement but also extreme anxiety and kind of a frantic feeling of wondering. Endless questions.”

“And this song sounds exactly like that frantic feeling of anxiety and questioning. But it stresses that even if a relationship is breakable and fragile and full of anxiety, it doesn’t mean that it isn’t worthwhile, exciting, beautiful, and all the things we look for.”

She said on her YouTube channel, “I wanted to make sure that these songs sounded exactly the way the emotions felt.” The singer calls her change in music-style a “sonic evolution”.

You definietly get those emotions when listening to that song, girl! Not to mention, Lena Dunham revealed the track was actually recorded in HER living room.

On a side note, we’re pretty obsessed with Taylor Swift’s latest commercial for Diet Coke – let’s just say it’s PURRFECT

Anne Hathaway Gets Real for Harper’s Bazaar.

Actress, Oscar winner, wife, & more: Anne Hathaway stars in Harper’s Bazaar November 2014 issue photographed by wearing an Armani Prive gown. Anne’s most notable career move was starring in Les Misérables but the fame came with a lot of backlash – trending on Google were articles “Why Do I Hate Anne Hathaway?” for a number of reasons the talented actress just seemed rub people the wrong way. Now she doesn’t let the petty drama get to her but instead stays calm, cool & collected.

Screen Shot 2014-10-09 at 11.56.43 AM

One of the moments when people really seemed to dislike Hathaway’s ways was she won the award for Best Supporting Actress, she was “weirdly presentational. One of the things I’ve been accused of is being inauthentic. And they were right—but not for the reason they thought.” Adding, “I couldn’t tie this moment to what I really wanted to say. And that’s on me, because Lupita did it,” Anne, “fumbled through the end,” got offstage, and realized that she’d forgotten to thank her manager of 15 years, who was battling cancer.

“One of my most regretted life moments,” she says. When Les Misérables won for Best Musical or Comedy, Hathaway asked the film’s producer Eric Fellner if she could say something else. “While everyone was still getting onstage, I spoke. I should have gone after everyone else. I own that; it was rude. People saw that as grabby, I guess. I don’t know.”

Screen Shot 2014-10-09 at 11.56.51 AM

On her career path & being Daring, “Even though I’ve had great success, touch wood, it hasn’t been easy. A lot of people have told me, ‘You’re not this and so can’t play that,’ and I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve been told I’m not sexy. I just go: ‘I’m a lot of things. Just because I don’t wear my sexiness overtly doesn’t mean that I can’t become that girl for a role. That’s what I do; I become things. Use your imagination, buddy.’ So in terms of not listening to what other people told me about who I was as an actress and then really pursuing it, I think I’ve been daring in that way.”

She pays an ode to the incredibile Tilda Swinton, “Tilda is it, but she’s so cool about it. She’s so cool, she’d be like, ‘Oh, it’s not daring. I just did it.’ Hmm, Jonathan Demme” (who directed Hathaway to her first Oscar nomination, for Rachel Getting Married)—”he’s still my mentor and hero. And Matthew McConaughey is the most daring man I know. He never judged himself along the way, and it’s all come together for him so wholly and deeply. He is totally himself.”

On style, “Leandra Medine from [the blog] Man Repeller. I feel empowered by her. Not just her humor; she reminds me of Diana Vreeland. She wants girls to dress for themselves, be goofy, awesome girls. I have a Pinterest board, which is called Closet Crush, and it’s just all her and Jane Birkin and a little Sophia Amoruso because I think she’s fabulous too.”

Harper’s Bazaar asked Anne what  her most daring outfit was: “I fucking think that pink Oscar dress!” She laughs. “Now that you know the backstory, that was by far in a way the most daring dress I have ever worn. It maybe didn’t look it, but that was it.” LOL!

Rock Goddess: Crista Cober.

Crista Cober is the definition of a rock goddess in her latest editorial for Harper’s Bazaar UK Septempber issue. The styling by fashion editor Miranda Almond is perfection – love mixing the feminine diamonds & pieces of jewelry with a rocker-chic biker jacket.

Screen Shot 2014-08-07 at 1.11.19 PM

David Slijper shot Cober in a fewe subtle poses & focus on her face (with minimal makeup) and her perfect pout. In some shots she reminds us of actress, of British actress, Rebecca Hall – from her freckles & complexion.

Our favorite shot of Crista is wear you can subtly see her body-tattoo through a sheer white button up. Love it. The glitz & the glam juxtaposed with a little punky-fierceness.
