MODELPRENEUR: Claudia Schiffer is Flawless for GRAZIA Italia.

Supermodel icon Claudia Schiffer has still got it. The German-born, blonde bombshell stuns for GRAZIA ITALIA’s December issue. Schiffer looks fab in high fashion pieces by GUCCI, Louis Vuitton, Hermes – for the cover she rocks a red piece by Dolce & Gabbana // Styled by Birgit Schlotterbeck.

Adam Whitehead photographed the 44 year old top model – And as an FYI since the VS FASHION Show in London just happened: Claudia Schiffer was the FIRST supermodel chosen to wear the 1st Fantasy Bra EVER for Victoria’s Secret in 1996. The bedazzled lingerie piece cost $1million & featured 100 carats of diamonds, then known as the ‘Million Dollar Miracle Bra’. She was discovered & managed by Z Management’s Thomas ZEUMERClaudia still remains one of the most in-demand models in the world – the longevity of her career has broken the barriers within the modeling & fashion industry.

In a recent interview over the summer, Schiffer opened up to Net-A-Porter’s The EDIT‘, on initially being shy when entering the modeling world, she said, “When I started modeling I wouldn’t say a word,” she remembers. “I literally wouldn’t open my mouth. If someone talked to me I would go bright red, and I spent the whole time praying that I wasn’t the next person in the pictures, as I hated being the center of attention.”

Supermodels reigned the 80s & 90s – and they continue to now especially via social media. The former GUESS! model talks about a time when Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova (also discovered/managed by Thomas Zeumer), Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington & more ruled the fashion/modeling/celebrity world, “It was a strange mix between camaraderie and competition. We were rivals but we hung out, too. Some things only worked if all the supermodels were together and we knew we had that power. If we didn’t like a certain photographer, we would refuse to work with him and his career was dead. That’s not a good thing, but it was power. On the positive side, if we found a designer we all liked, we would do their show for free to help their career.Talk about some serious Supermodel Superpowers!

And, if you’re wondering how Claudia became a catwalk queen? She started off on CHANEL’s runway: “Karl [Lagerfeld] thought it would be funny if he put me in Chanel – I was so much curvier with lots of blond hair. But he picked the wrong person because I couldn’t walk the runway. He said, ‘Just walk like you walk to school,’ and I did.” Adding, “Afterwards, people said, ‘Well, I’ve never seen a model walk like that before”.

We love this fashion editorial for GRAZIA Italia – can’t wait to see more from this stunner! Xx ~Z
