Model News: Gisele Rocks off the Runway.

Well, the time has finally come. Iconic supermodel, Gisele Bundchen, hung up her angel wings a few years back … and now, she’s walking off the runway. Before you go all cray – Gisele is NOT quitting modeling, but she will be kickin’ it OFF the catwalk.

Bundchen’s final walk will be during Sao Paulo Fashion Week.

The Brazilian beauty said in the Folha de Sao Paulo newspaper that she’s quitting after her body “asked her to stop.” She said, “Automatically my body tells me if what I do is worth it, and it asked to stop. I respect my body, it’s a privilege to be able to stop.”

She emphasized that she’s not retiring her modeling career & she’ll still continue to work off the runway, from campaigns to covers. Tom Brady’s wife is also looking to spend more time at home with her family.

The face of H&M said,  “I don’t see how to continue (modeling on the catwalk) … and stopping will leave room for other projects I have for myself.”

Gisele has been the world’s highest-earning model (according to Forbes) for the last eight years, with $47 million in earnings just last year.

As of recently she’s covered multiple VOGUE issues, is the face of Sonia Rykiel, H&M, Pantene & of course the coveted CHANEL No. 5 ads.

The longevity of Gisele’s modeling career is seriously ground breaking & it doesn’t look like she’s stopping (hopefully) anytime soon … although we’ll miss her strutting those killer legs on the catwalk, we can’t wait to see her upcoming cover issues, ad campaigns & more.

Interestingly enough, the top model made her career on the catwalk.

In 1997 Bündchen traveled to London, she auditioned for 42 shows and ended up getting her big break when she was “chosen for her ability to walk in towering heels—on a slippery runway—for Alexander McQueen’s spring 1998 “rain” ready-to-wear show” (Wikipedia).

The former Victoria’s Secret angel said in the VOGUE UK March ’15 issue,  “I’m a model as a job, I’m Gisele, the daughter of Valdir and Vania, I’m a woman, I am a model. When I go home and shut the door, that’s it. If I want to expose something, it should be my choice.”

Supermodel + Entrepreneur = ModelPreneuer. Ambrosio launched her ‘beach-chic ready-to-wear’ line ‘Ále by Alessandra’ April 2014 and it’s already making waves in the fashion industry (umm we cannot wait to wear this rad Monokini as seen on her below).

Ále by Alessandra is like my third child, as I have been working on it for quite [a while]. Most of the pieces in the collection are inspired by my Brazil-bohemia-meets-Malibu-chic lifestyle and are very feminine, colorful, and effortless. I lean towards bohemian-chic style because I love flowy dresses, layered pieces, and you can never go wrong with a good fitted pair of jeans. That was my inspiration when I designed my collection.”

On wearing the Victoria’s Secret Fantasy Bra – not once but TWICE: “Before the first time I did it, I was like, ‘When am I going to wear the Fantasy Bra, when is it going to be my turn?…I wasn’t expecting to wear the Fantasy Bra again, but when I got the news [about 2014], it was so unexpected and such a huge honor. It was new for Victoria’s Secret to have two girls modeling the bras on the runway, and me and Adriana [Lima] had a great time. We’ve known each other for a long time; we started at the same time in Brazil, and we’ve done a lot of shoots together for Victoria’s Secret, so it was amazing they thought of us to be the first two girls to wear the double Fantasy Bra.”

Social Media – the benefits & the bullies: “I always liked social media. I was one of the first models I think that had a website, and I had a camera with me all the time so my fans would see little parts of my life through my eyes, and I think social media is an extension of that. It’s important, but at the same time, it’s not an obligation. I’m having fun when I’m doing it. If I have to do it for an obligation, I don’t even like it because it’s losing its meaning. I don’t even take [Internet bullies] personally anymore. There are so many different opinions. If I read and I don’t like it, I’m like, whatever… You can’t listen to what everybody says; you have to be yourself.”

Balancing modeling & motherhood: “My daughter, she has a very strong personality; people say she’s exactly like me, that her temperament is exactly like mine. She’s very girly, and I’m like that too, and she has a lot of energy. I never stop, and she’s kind of the same, never gets tired,”. “[Noah] is so cuddly; all I want to do is kiss him all day long. Anja is my buddy, she’s my best friend, but he’s the love of my life.”

Gisele Bundchen stars in new Chanel N°5 ad campaign.

Gisele Bündchen is not only the highest paid FORBES model but now is the face of the iconic Chanel N°5 fragrance.

The new Chanel N°5 ad campaign stars one of the top models in the world, Brazilian beauty, Gisele. The stellar commercial was written and directed by Baz Luhrmann with production design by Catherine Martin, (who worked with Baz on Moulin Rouge! and The Great Gatsby).

Screen Shot 2014-10-16 at 12.15.40 PM

Although, Bundchen (wife of football player Tom Brady) is the star of the latest ad, the true essence of the brand & commercial is dedicated to one woman: Coco Chanel herself, particularly since the perfume was launched nearly a century ago.

Luhrmann said, “It’s the spirit of Coco Chanel that has continued to influence the house. She’s about paradoxes in character – one minute she’s be in trousers on the beach, the next she’d be in a beautiful frock. That’s what I love most about Chanel – it comes from an actual person and the things that she felt and that were real to her. She really changed fashion.”

VOGUE magazine said, “Ten years ago, N°5 was the fragrance of a woman who decided to break free from it all and then return to reality, renouncing her desire. Today, through Luhrmann’s eyes, we see the N°5 woman deciding to listen to her heart. She is a modern woman who knows exactly who she is and is free to make her own choices. The film tells the story of a woman who struggles to find space for everything – herself, family, career, and love.”

In a release, CHANEL said of the film,  said of the new campaign, “I worked on the No.5 ad with Nicole Kidman 11 years ago, so when Chanel approached me about doing it again I thought: ‘What is the difference between the Chanel woman then and now? In a way Gisele became the script. I knew her when she was quite young and starting out, and she’s evolved so much in both her life and work. The film reflects that – this woman has a child, a real job and then she has this relationship. Gisele is the Chanel woman now.”

Baz added, “The CHANEL woman can be with herself on a beach, can be with her child, can have an aspirational and fulfilling work life, and at the same time she can have a true relationship; she can have romance. And in the end, the CHANEL woman chooses love.

With the Grease classic The One That I Want, (by musician Lo-Fang) playing ominously in the background the ad really gives off the essence of a woman balancing significant aspects in her life from being a mother, personal life, career, and a wife – not to mention loved seeing everything CHANEL luxe from the pillows, SURFBOARD, clothes, jewelry & more.

Adriana Lima is ‘En Vogue’.

Adriana Lima – one of the top Modelpreneurs in the world chats with the OG ‘Fashion Bible’ on starting out with Vogue, Polaroids, what she wore, advice for upcoming models & more.
Lima has graced the covers of numerous international Vogue issues.

Adriana-Lima--Harpers-Bazaar-Espana--06

1. How did you feel getting your casting Polaroid shot by Vogue?

I was nervous and proud. I thought, How did I get here? How did a small-town girl from Brazil who wore T-shirts, ripped denim shorts, flip-flops, and ran around on the beach get into the big glass doors of Vogue? I didn’t really know how, but I was there and it was amazing.

2. What did you wear? Did you have a uniform you wore to castings?

“Keep it simple,” I was told. Simple clothes. Simple makeup. I couldn’t remember exactly what I wore until I saw the old photo! I wore a tank top, jeans, heels to lengthen me, and barely any makeup.

3. Do you remember anything out of the ordinary about that day?

I was super aware of everything that day. My mind was racing, yet I was very clear-headed at the same time while I waited with dozens of other beautiful young women. I felt better when I realized that everyone was in the same place I was. It helped me feel less anxious.

4. Did you prepare for it in any special way?

I wish I could have slept! The day before I met my agent, I had a healthy meal and spent a low-key night at home with a skin-brightening mask. I tossed and turned all night, though.

5. How have you changed since then and what have you learned?

I’m much more confident now. I think it comes with experience. You learn what is important and what works for you physically and emotionally. You win some and you lose some, and there’s always going to be someone different than you, but you have to focus on being the best version of yourself.

6. What advice do you have for models attending castings?

Don’t be overwhelmed by all of the other people around you. It’s daunting, but feel confident in your own abilities. As I was once told, “Keep it simple and classic. Show your personality and let your inner beauty shine.”IMG_0494-0.JPG

Gisele Bündchen stars in Sonia Rykiel Campaign.

Iconic fashion label SONIA RYKIEL amped up their upcoming campaign by tapping ModelPRENEUR Gisele Bundchen to star in the new ads photographed by Marc Jacobs’ Juergen Teller – Gisele goes au natural for the shoot wearing subtle makeup (if any) & laid back poses – the shoot was was art directed // styled by LOVE Magazine’s editor-in-chief Katie Grand.

Screen Shot 2014-07-24 at 12.39.42 PM

Grand’s inspiration for the new direction of the campaign was actually taken from the French labels founder, Sonia Rykiel, back in the 70s.

“They were very elegant black-and-white snapshots of her in the studio and on a car, and reminded me of Juergen Teller’s work. Once Juergen had agreed to work with us, we wanted to work with a woman with Madame Rykiel’s joie de vivre, and the obvious choice was Gisele,” Grand added, “Juergen does not often shoot in black-and-white and we asked him to shoot film to give an authenticity to the images.”
