Model of the Moment: Gigi Hadid.

The gorgeous Gigi Hadid has officially hit supermodel status. The blonde babe opened up to VOGUE about modeling -from meeting the entire fashion industry to the hectic scheduling. Gigi’s already got a pretty rad modeling career going on, but that doesn’t stop this bad-a** chick from keeping her studies going – she is currently attending college at The New School in NYC. #BeautyandBrains.

On Modeling: “I’d say the best thing is the travel and being able to meet a lot of great amazing talented people. It also opens so many doors to other industries. Fashion is really a place where every other industry connects, whether it’s music or acting.”

The 19 year old added, “At the end of the day, everyone is going to walk the red carpet and be interested in the fashion side of it. I think that’s really cool because as a model you get to connect with a lot of different worlds. The negative is that I can never make plans until like a week or two in advance because everything happens very last minute. It’s a wait and rush thing. I couldn’t tell you what I’m doing for Christmas, or even Thanksgiving.”

Gigi graduated high school in 2011 and moved to the fashion/modeling capital of the world: New York City to pursue modeling. She’s appeared in magazines from V Magazine, ELLE, Grazia, Cleo, VOGUE, Galore, Sports Illustrated, Paper magazine & Schön!. After signing with IMG Models she became the face of GUESS, Gigi was actually discovered by Paul Marciano (co-founder of GUESS? Inc.).

Just this year, homegirl has starred alongside Patrick Schwarzenegger in Tom Ford’s Eyewear campaign, as well as starring for the brands new fragrance Velvet Orchid. She’s set to appear in the 2015 Pirelli calendar, prior to that she was featured in the SI Swimsuit Issue, up for ‘rookie of the year’.

Recently Gigi walked for Marc Jacobs S/S 15 during NYFW, Giles S/S 15 RTW at London Fashion Week, and in Jean Paul Gaultier SS15 Show, Sonia Rykiel SS15 and Chanel SS15 during Paris Fashion Week. Of course it’s a family affair, Hadid’s mom stars on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills & Bella Hadid (Gigi’s younger sister) is also pursuing modeling, recently signing with IMG Models too. Gigi hangs with fellow top model besties, Kendall/Kylie Jenner, Cara Delevingne, Hailey & Ireland Baldwin, Sara Sampaio & more.

 

 

 

 

Emily Ratajkowski for Vanity Fair.

Emily Ratajkowski made her breakout debut by starring (naked) in Robin Thicke’s controversial Blurred Lines music video which garnered over 300 million YouTube views – although it launched her modeling career the 23 year old stunner does mention, “I didn’t expect the video to become this pop-culture phenomenon.”

After her role in the music vid – Emily was featured in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit and now set to star in the major motion picture Gone Girl, alongside Ben Affleck. Alhtough born in London she grew up mostly in South California & is the daughter of an artist and an English professor. The buxom babe opens up to Vanity Fair – Photograph by Ellen Von Unwerth.

On her background: “People either think I have a crazy Polish accent or a British accent; then I say ‘gnarly’ and surprise everyone.”

On getting the role of Andie in Gone Girl: “I didn’t want to act in high school because I was sick of auditioning for Nickelodeon, Disney mean girls, or the cheerleader. I came back to it when I had enough leverage to pick and choose. I got a dream role in a dream film.”

On working with director David Fincher(Fight Club, The Social Network): “I worked really well with David because I was ready to be a student and he is the best teacher. He wants to do a hundred takes and I want to do them for him.”

Kate Upton is at it again – the blonde bombshell poses for the upcoming F/W ’14 Sam Edelman campaign with nothing but a bed sheet & a burgundy stiletto. The 22 year old supermodel tweeted (along with the pic below), “Love my new @sam_edelman fall campaign! Thanks to @mertalas and @macpiggott for the amazing shots!”

This is the 3rd season Kate has been the face of the  shoe brand  – Sam Edelman told WWD,”This campaign reveals Kate in an intimate one-on-one moment. With the launch of our apparel line this season, we can dress her from toe to head but sometimes all she wants are her Sams.”

The modern-day Marilyn is simultaneously starring in campaigns for beauty brand Bobbi Brown, and the clothing line Express – she’s covering the September issue of ELLE UK.

Ever since her break through in the fashion//modeling world with her legendary Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover she’s been killin’ it in the industry – well it all started with her ever-popular YouTube video of Teach Me How to Dougie … LOL! Keep it fierce Kate! Xx
